 Great News!
Well, yawl know me, anything past a loud yawn is great news for me. I just love to have something to get happy about, so I don’t mind looking.

On my way down to Atlanta Saturday morning, my car ran outta water and I had to stop. Of course. It just happened that I pulled into the driveway of Bethlehem Baptist Church. A kind woman and her friend came immediately to my aid. The gentlemen put water in the car, got more [hot] water. The boiling stopped and I was on my way.

I am not giving their names because they might not want to be on my blog. But they did help me and I am so grateful. Things like this make me feel like somehow or other, everything is surely going to be all right.

Then, just today, I went to my volunteer duty at Habersham Habit and boy, did I hit the jackpot. I don’t have many rules but one of my strongest ‘don’t nevers’ is: don’t never buy anything anywhere until you go to Habitat to look for it. And then go again, before you purchase.  I brought home a terrific HP 6500 OfficeJet Printer, all for the low, low price of $6.50. That’s right: a mere six dollars and a half! Now, you tell me, ain’t that good news!? It is!

Next, I learned some very valuable information since I last posted: Low-Carb/High-Fat eating is an absolute winning combination. That’s right. In my case, however, need high-er fat. It seems that in the absence of carbs, the body naturally burns fat for energy, thereby, causing said body to lose weight. I’ll be coming back to this item in future posts.

Along with the above, I bought myself a set of weights AND a Weider Bench! That’s right. I haven’t brought the bench home yet but I have had a good workout. It was all just a great time. I did what I remember doing years ago in Cali when I started weight training and also what I did at Lee Haney’s World Class Gym! It’s gonna happen, you’ll see.

And finally, tonight I will resume my blogtalkradio show. Please join in. if not tonite, then Thursday, 7:30 p.m. EDT.

Until we meet again, live well, and always, drink tea!

  1. Yawl will probably say that my post here is outdated, out of place, in bad tasted, etc. but, it is here anyway. It seems there is another FB/Cornelia page but I can't seem to find it and I am really shaking just now. In the last few minutes, I realized that there a KKK rally in Charleston this weekend. I wonder if there is one in Cornelia, Clarkesville, Demorest of Alto? If there is, I wonder if i should be worried. I am. I'll tell you truthfully: I am worried. I am afraid. I am shaking. What would it be like if I were to be 'targeted', or did anyone even target the Wednesday nite prayer meeting? What would I do? I have no protection in my home; i live alone, no one to help me. So, what would it be like? Oh, dear. I'm still waiting for someone to call and say, sorry about what happened, San. I'm astonished that no one is ashamed, embarrassed, or offended. I am severely offended. But mostly, right now: I'm nervous and afraid and worried...
  2. I couldn't figure out how to move the '1.' so i just gave up. but at least this way i do have appropriate spacing. I posted this on my local FB page and will also post it to g+ but i'm using all avenues to get this out. It is weird being alone and so politically vulnerable. it's one thing to be an 'older' female living alone, but in this moment of mounting tensions, it's a bitch! Who will protect me? Who would find me? Wow. I'm not being paranoid, I'm just aware.

  1. Okkkk! So That's it for now, but be good, and keep drinking tea, ok, because, according to the late Dr. Atkins, people who drink a lot of tea are generally in better health.

  1. Wow, still can't figure out the line spacing.  Must be a hold-over from typing and copying it from FB.

Seriously, I don't get it.
Sometimes I say I do; but honestly, I don't get racial hatred.

I have had to drink several pots of green tea and take several long, fast walks in the hot summer sun to be able to pen these words. Last night, in bed, I thought about it and I got dizzy and nauseous.

So, here's what I don't get:

why white people hate black people so much that they must randomly kill a few of us now and then. I don't get why the white police need to gang up on a black unarmed/unhealthy/hooded black male once in a while and kill him.

I don't get why white people are not embarrassed by this behavior. I know a good 500 white people, in all. Nary a one has ever called, written, emailed or texted me to express condolence, sorrow, sadness, at either of such occurrences. But ...

White Americans hold themselves out to anyone who listens as being the very paragon of righteousness and virtue. But, again, Nary A One raises a voice when such things as a 'racial hatred' crime is committed. The police even took the time to put the shooter in a bullet-proof vest. Wow. What were the other people in the crowd doing while they waited??? Just wondering.

I don't get it why there is never a hue and cry from white pastors, 'conscious' white police officers, teachers, store keepers, ALL. Why? I don't get why nobody cares about what happens to us. I don't get it that all the white people who are friends with, married to, bonded with, supervised by and surely, indebted to at least one black person don't raise their voices!

I just don't get it.

And to make bad matters worse, I don't get why they all think they can think for us. That is one of my favorite things: Paternalism. We are not capable of our own thinking/acting/speaking so they must do it for us.

Case in Point: I don't care about the Confederate Flag. Got it! It is a symbol of something that means a great deal to a great many white americans [hell, for all I know, black, too]. Let them hang on to their illusions for as long as they can. The very idea that Wal-Mart would 'pull' confederate items is a insult to my own intelligence. I'd appreciate it a whole more if Wal-Mart stopped treating their employees like chattel property and 'allowed', at least encouraged, unions, and a $15 minimum wage. The most successful retailer in history could surely pull this off. But no. Instead, they do what they think they can to avoid 'offending' us and pull confederate stuff. Really.

But, this is where it gets really good: The white people are astonished to hear the prez use their favorite racial expletive. Imagine that. We'd never have heard the term if white people hadn't assigned it to us. So he uses it and they're astonished. I guess they're afraid he's about to forget all his training and 'become' one. Hell, in their minds, he was never anything else.

These white people: I just really don't get....

Ok, sure. These photos have nothing to do with what I just wrote. But if you have any kindness in your soul at all, u should surely be feeling the heaviness of these days. Green tea is a great palliative for such 'sinking'.

THIS IS NOT ALL THAT I HAVE TO SAY!!!

God be with us.

Things I love and Love to Sell!

Good Morning! I must--simply must--take a moment and give you an idea of what I'm doing these days, mornings, nights!

Amongst others: seriously putting together an e-commerce store. It's a lotta fun and gives me something really cool to do with all my thrift store finds.

Now's your chance! Get out there and find some to sell online and stay close. I'll share with you what I do and I progress.

Meantime, please look for my book: Arise and Walk: Biblical Principles of Health and Wellness.
at Amazon.com

You know, one thing for sure about movement, if you're doing something, you're not doing nothing. I mean you can't stay still and move but forward at the same time.

You know I've said this before but I intend it this time. No more weeks without blogging!

Here's a nice photo for you and in the meantime, I'll be looking for more.

Rejoice! Only seven--that's 7--more days til spring. and Florida now has legal same-gender marriage.

BTW: I'm moving to Jacksonville Easter Weekend!

More later, but not so late this time, ok!

A Nice, Big Smile!

And Then Another One.

Let's Have Tea Soon, Ok?
