Oh well this is exciting. It is always exciting for me to sit down and put words to paper.
[It is even more exciting now that I am using Google Voice typing. It has been a great, great help to me in meeting my daily writing goals; not just for the challenge but for the my own work.
The first person who came to my mind was the late great Channeler known as Jane Roberts. She had already passed away by the time I became aware of her. Nevertheless, I have read most of all that she wrote; some of what her husband wrote and I have loved every bit of it.

When I heard Jane Roberts’ voice, I heard reality discussed; I heard reality shared; I heard reality enlightened.

I was on a mission of escape from organized religion when I encountered her and I was greatly delighted to meet her. Her voice is actually being used to Channel a disembodied entity known as Seth. This entity Seth speaks about the nature of reality in way that I had never heard but had definitely considered, for many years.
Jane Roberts’ voice is strong and clear and compassionate and warm and certain. When you listen to her talk, or when you read her words, it is always clear that she has absolute faith in the things about which she speaks. She has no more space than her being for doubting her self, nor her reality.
Not only do I question reality and beliefs, but I speak these questions as often as possible. My goal is to speak as clearly, as strongly and as surely. Yes, indeed I have found much, much, much from her that I have kept and folded into my own presentation.
The voice of Jane Roberts was always different from everyone else's. Jane Roberts’ voice was always plaintive, serious, sincere. She never seemed to take her self or her life lightly. No doubt, there were many who considered her to be “too serious”. I have had that very same thing said to myself many times.

Many times in my life, I've been told

·         lighten up
·         don't be so serious
·         don't take everything so seriously
·         don't take everything to heart.
In my view, there is nothing light-hearted or humorous or silly or simple about myself or my existence and certainly not about my life as I have seen it to be.
From My Own Collection - After Many Reads!
What speaks to most loudly from the voice of Jane Roberts is the absolute necessity to always examine beliefs.
To always, always, always look at what you believe and wonder if it's true. Wonder if I believe it because someone told me to or because I read it in a ‘religious’ book or because the respected, righteous Elders of my clan believe it.  I always seek to speak in a different voice; to question what I perceive as reality; to find ways to share my insight with others. I can do it. All of my life, I have wanted to extrasensory experiences, the Out-Of-Body Experiences. Jane’s experiences and her deliveries have made dust of my doubts and released me from many, many assigned beliefs.
This is what I remember from Jane Roberts’ and I promise you it absolutely is worth keeping. I’m not sure I took any liberties. J

The assignment:

write about one of your times of waiting. Even better, and try to get to 500 words

That last phrase is my favorite part. I am prolific. 500 words is no problem, especially as I use voice typing. Please continue.

It is a grand and glorious challenge today. I am writing in my blog spot and I haven't even gotten out of the bed! I'm using Google Voice typing.

write WHILE you're waiting. Take whatever downtime you have that you might otherwise waste
Just Sit Down, and Wait a Minute!

Agreed, Indeed. I was lying there, waiting to get up.

Waiting is a horrible way to spend time. Waiting requires you to defer something. No matter what it is that you're waiting for, it is always something that you want.

The problem is that while you are waiting for something, you probably are also dreading something.  In my experience, there's no way to wait well. There's no way to wait for something in comfort. There's no way to wait for something and relax. Those two things don't just don't go together.

  • You can come now or you can wait till I get back.
  • I can take you to the store now, or you can wait till I finish the dishes.
  • You can go ahead and eat dinner now, or you can wait until I finish the salad.
  • “Just wait till your father gets home and you'll see what happens”.  I never had that experience [being raised by a single mother] but it is still stupid. It builds up stress in a person waiting for somebody to come home and do harm to them.
  • Have you done your taxes yet? Yes I'm waiting for my return, so I can take a trip.
  • Have you done the dishes yet? No, but I'm going to after I rest a little bit.
  • Have you started exercising yet? No. What are you waiting for? I'm waiting for the weather to get warm. I'm waiting to find someone to walk with. I'm waiting for my friend to get off work. I'm waiting so my husband can walk with me.
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
Waiting on the Plants to Grow,,,

Obviously this is an opinion piece but I will tell you this, yet again: Waiting simply is a horrible way to spend some time. I am waiting for some dude to decide that he'll be my sweetheart; waiting for him to come and eat dinner with me. Waiting for him to decide that I can come and live with him. Misery. Labor. Oh, the Horror!

But...

Waiting doesn't have to be miserable.
Waiting doesn't have to be dreadful.
Waiting, in fact, doesn't really even have to happen.

I found an answer to waiting: Action.

If you're worried about something and you start doing something you don't have time to worry about it so much. And you won't feel like you're waiting. You will feel like you're taking a hand in what's going on, and more like an adult or at least a real person.

Excerpted from: A Psalm of Life [Henry Wadsworth Longfellow]

“let us then be up and doing with a heart for any fate.
Still achieving still pursuing, learn to labor and to wait.”

Again, thanks to Jeff Goins, I am moving in the right direction, and today, with an additional 71 words, to boot!

Voting Place in My Home County - The Courthouse
Today’s Assignment: Start a Fight, and it needs to be 500 words! Well, Sign me Up!
I am over the age of 18 and am fully competent to make this declaration: I have burned my voter registration card [and so should you]! I realized that politics in this country is not only a joke, but also a great, great insult. If you want to know how I came to that conclusion, read on.
I burned my voter registration card because my government treats me more like an enemy than it does those sworn to his demise [like terrorists, for example].
I burned my voter registration card when I realized that government hated me more than it does known, proven, life-long, dedicatee criminals. I burned my voter registration card when I realized that the people who would have taken over government property [in Oregon to be exact, a National Guard Armory], were being treated like guests. This is the same government who randomly kills people just because they're black and unarmed.
Before you decide, let me ask you a question or two. Do you fully understand this whole business of government? Do you really have some faith in the process? You do? Fine. But, if you have any questions or doubts about your role as a voting citizen, tread lightly.
It is my considered, informed, historically-observed opinion that, No one even understands the process. Do you know what the Electoral College is, where it is, or what it does. Why would anybody over 50 years old even want to run for public office; much less a national public office.
What difference does it make who’s president, when people are still living homeless on the street?
Who cares who's president when crime still rises from day to day?
Who cares who is making more money for their campaign when people are still unemployed?
I burned my voter registration card.
I will never go to the polls again. I don't care who votes or who runs, and neither should you.
Don't go to the polls, and you won't have to worry about standing in line. Don't go to the polls, and you won't have to complain about who didn't do something. Don’t go to the polls and you won’t have to be turned away. Don’t go to the polls and there won’t be any voter fraud. Don't go to the polls ever again and then the idiot stupid hateful politicians will have to find something else to do.
Don’t listen to ‘if you don’t vote, you can’t complain.’ That’s not true. You can complain plenty. I know; I’ve done it for years. There are just too many problems for any one single person to fix. There are millions of ‘voters’ in this country who could offer simple, workable, ethical solutions to the problems created by politicians while they are supposedly fixing everything.
Burn your voter registration card, now!
Don't go to the polls. Ever again.

We remain in National Women's History Month. So, I therefore, am duty-bound to continue that discussion. First, I would repeat that Women's History is much more than accomplishments. I must further repeat that whatever we believe, practice and model to others, was first assigned to us, by another person/people. For the purpose of this conversation, the assignment is the Holy Writ of those who call themselves Christian.

While you consider that, please ask yourself this question:

Who can find a virtuous woman?
Do you remember the first time or even the last time that you heard this? Do you remember how it made you feel to hear it? Do you know why this scripture is so popular? Have you ever thought of what your church or what any church would be like if there were no women there? Have you ever thought of what your church or any church would be like if only virtuous women were there?

Do you think this is fair? Do you believe it is difficult to find a virtuous woman? Why? Wel, obviously, because it’s written in the Bible!
Proverbs 30:10-20

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Does that mean that if her husband was to sell her, he would get a great price?

Do you know who wrote that scripture, and why? Do you understand what happens every time you hear this scripture? If you do agree with it, would you please tell me why?
People who believe this are telling you that it is that you can find one, but they are so rare. I am speaking to you as The Health Reverend, right here in rural Northeast Georgia, there is something badly wrong with that scripture.
What is that this wrong with that scripture?

First, it was written by a male. Remember, a male decides when a woman is virtuous. A male decides when a woman is ‘acceptable’. In case you don't know: it was a man who originally decided that a woman could even be a b****. It was a male who decided that when a woman starts talking back; acting out of her role, or acting in what is considered a ‘male’ row. Anytime a woman gets out of line with a man or makes him in any way uncomfortable, then she turns into a four-legged female dog.
This labeling is a never-ending practice of Sexist Oppression. It has has been practiced for so long that we women have internalized. So it comes as no surprise that we, Women, truly believe that none of us is virtuous. Yes, indeed, there is something vitally wrong with that scripture.
More to Come...

First Book Cover
Whenever I hear the word ‘manifesto,’ the first thing that comes into my mind is The Communist Manifesto [1848] by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, and the second thing is The Black Manifesto, prepared by James Forman, a former leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee [April 1969].

This Manifesto The Health Reverend’s Manifesto. It is so titled because I am the. Health Reverend. I am a Seminary-educated, ordained minister with a background in Alternative Health and Wellness. I am a trained/experienced Certified Reflexologist, I am studied in Social Activist Ministry.

My initial goal was to become a church consultant. My Hope was to consult churches who had or needed Health and Wellness Ministries. This didn't happen so I continued to look for other ways to support myself. Along the way I have encountered several different options but the one that appeals to me the most is writing. Because I really believe that there are more people online right now then there are in church. I further believe that the world is still “hungry for the living word…”.

I know that there is no one way for my work to be done. There is not single one area of health to concentrate on. I therefore incorporate health into everything that I do: Social/cultural health Financial Health, and awareness. I study and write and think about the conditions of women and children. I study and I write and I think about the circumstances of poverty and homelessness and racism as well a the historical foundations of these situations. I am a Womanist/Liberation Theologian.

Accepting this challenge is going to be a great boon for my writing efforts. Thus far I have completed one print book. My first eBook that is languishing on Amazon and eBay, and I also have a second book in the series on its way. The focus of those two eBooks is Alternative Health, with a view toward Seniors [Or anyone who needs it].

I've always loved writing. I have always loved to research. And I've always been fascinated by that area of experience called Alternative Health. I have been equally fascinated by religion, and all that I have taught about religion, religious practices, religious beliefs, religious wars and so forth.

I graduated from The interdenominational Theological Seminary where we historically train more black preachers that any other institution in the world. I, therefore, have a very large, serious heavy-duty charge to keep and writing is my way to do it. I am not a Pulpit preacher. I don't have a congregation; and I frankly am not interested in having one. I do, however, host a local and a blogtalkradio show. On this show, I discuss all the above-mentioned areas of experience, and many others. Writing will be my way of reaching my congregation. In other words to quote a hymn, it will be my way “...to reach the masses, men of every birth…”.  I don’t blame the preachers and church leaders because their members are ill; I’ll just do my best to help them get well. My current blog also provides me a great, great platform for interacting, instructing, helping. I really forward to building my readers and listeners. Without a doubt, I need to improve my blog’s appearance, improve my about me page and just make it work!
Drink Tea, No Matter What!

Generally, I write for: Everyone and anyone seeking to enhance/improve their physical health, ultimately becoming their own ‘Health Guru’. I wish to begin this work with the group whose health I know best: Seniors and Boomers!

Writing Challenge.

Today is my 4th day of the 31 day challenge that I accepted from Jeff Goins just a few days ago. The challenge was to write at least 500 words each day. However, I expanded my challenge to 500 words or 30 minutes each day. That keeps in line with my 30-day commitment to 30 minutes of exercise 30 minutes of reading and now I have 30 minutes of writing. I mentioned this in a previous post. But it’s different this time. This post is in complete tribute, gratitude and grateful acknowledgment of Jeff for what he has done for me and my future writing career.

I Am a Writer!

I have been a writer for a long time. I also have done all those things that Jeff said that Writers do. You know, think about it, talk about it, think about it and then talk about it. If I had not accepted the challenge, I would probably still be doing that. But, I did read it and now I'm doing much better.

I've kept to my writing schedule every day. I even wrote Saturday afternoon while I was waiting for a funeral to end [Funerals fascinate me.]. Another thing that I have gotten really excited about is Google Docs Voice Typing. I mentioned it in the previous post as well, but today I understand that not only is it an exciting discovery; but it is entirely phenomenal. I laughed out loud when I realized how much I owe to technology [but that's a little bit off the point].

Deep Gratitude

The main point of this entire post is just that I am so grateful to Jeff for giving me this challenge. I also am grateful for the suggestions that he gave for creating more traffic. I have a Blog and a Blog Talk Radio which I really enjoy. I speak for 1/2 hour twice a week.

Getting Busy!

So, as I read Jeff’s post, I made a list of people that I want to contact. That list includes Bishop Vashti McKenzie [the first woman to be elected Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination]; Dr. Jacqueline Grant [former professor of Womanist and Process Theology @ The ITC]; Dr. Eric Berg [Chiropractor], Dr. David Perlmutter [Neurologist],  Bishop TD Jakes, and Bishop Eddie Long [TV Evangelists]. These people are all in the field of religion and [alternative] medicine. I am a seminary educated ordained minister with a background in biblical principles of Health and Wellness. For the purpose of this writing, also often known as Alternative Medicine.

The list also includes Steve Harvey [who needs no introduction] and Tom Joiner [syndicated radio talk show host].

On an earlier post from Jeff, there's a list of over 2,000 blogs that I could follow. I am going to connect to at least fifty of them so that I can make myself into a guest blogger. It turns out I have an [informed] opinion on dang-near everything under the sun.

So I will continue with my daily writing. Another big thing is to return to finalize my second eBook and then tomorrow’s big thing is to create a nice cover for it and prepare it for my blog.

Thereafter, I will have [learn to] to imbed widgets to my blog to sell my books [and other stuff]. This brings us to the end of my today’s post; I hope you enjoy the pictures that I took while walking.

The goal was to walk and dictate while walking; however, that didn't happen because of the wind. It just didn't work out too well but don't worry, I'll be headed that pretty soon.

When my 18 months have passed, I’ll be coming in close behind my NBF, Jeff! All this, right here in rural NE GA!

My First eBook, Languishing on Amazon!

My first-ever to type today gave me 801 words. So I am 301 ahead. I'm so inspired I think I'll take off again!

On the matter of it Social Media: how much of it can I [or anyone] actually use?
The question is whether or not I can keep up with Twitter. Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn and my blog, on a daily basis. It also is how much can I absorb from other people.

Somebody is always writing something that comes to my inbox that I glanced at it and I think it's a good idea. I think I could really benefit from it. I don't know exactly how my brain is going to absorb all this input and make use of it.

I think I should perhaps just try to use everything that has to do with writing. Or,  should I continue to research for my books [which really doesn’t take much time]; or should I limit it to 3 people, 5 people, seven people. And then after I limit them how will I decide how I'm going to interact with them. I killed my Twitter account because I simply couldn't see the value of it. Okay I was almost up to 200 followers by the time I did. Obviously the goal is to build a large tribe. So while I was building my tribe, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the hell I was doing. Okay so I could think of a 140-character post at any time to put on there but then people start responding. I honestly am not going to sit and respond to every doggone like and so forth. So that brings me to the end of Twitter.

Then I decided it would be good if I just take some time and learn some of these things and make some informed decisions. For example, how many social media platforms do I really need? What I want to first is: write. I want to write books, not just my blog. I really do enjoy my blog. I enjoy my photographs and the work I am doing. Then, in the process of posting to my blog, I learn that every time I post something on my Blogspot, it is also posted on my Google+ page. This is a good thing, so why not just develop a tribe on Google+? I know there are people on Facebook who read other than what their friends ate for dinner. Then there's the matter of groups. I don't quite get it on how to interact with them, so that's going to bring me any benefit. I have a lot to learn!
